    Default Wonky tires on Rally

My schedule and my dealers schedule finally intersected and I was able to get the front end on my Rally aligned today. Handling is now razor sharp with no "crazy squirrel" darting around on the road. Unfortunately, my tire imbalance issue still exists; wheels vibrate and bounce at 45-55 mph. My dealer pulled the wheels and tried to get them balanced. Unfortunately due to the size of the hole in the wheel their balance adapters would not work. To the dealers credit they took the wheels to several other tire shops for a balance; no go. Finally the service writer, the tech, and I pulled out an old bubble balance (the service rep and I are silverbacks with experience) and put the wheels on it. Balance was fine. We collectively came to the conclusion that the Kenda's were poopie (that is the technical term) and were causing the issue. Dealer is ordering new tires and will mount them for me when they come in. Defective tire lamination was all that was left. Kudos to my dealer for sticking with it. Oddly, I enjoyed the experience even though there was not immediate resolution. I have been a scientist for 37 years; problem-solving is fascinating to me.

+1 on science! It just sucks when your ride is part of the problem statement.

Ah, got it - thanks. The dealer tried to spin balance the wheel on their machine and also took it to two tire shops. Apparently the issue is that the hole in the center of the wheel is much smaller than the adapters available at the dealer or either tire shop. Therefore, they were unable to spin balance.

You would think if these dealers are going to sell Ryker's they would have the means to properly work on them.
