    Default 2011 RT Question

I've had my RT about 5 days now and have been steadily poking at it to figure out what I can and can't mess with without breaking something expensive which led me to notice that my RT doesn't have manual gauges like some of yall's. Here's my question. Those gauge ports are covered up by very nice black disks that have a mess of wires behind them. Has anyone replaced one of those with a 12v cigarette lighter plug? I'm trying to find a place to hook up my GPS and that looks like the most reasonable place.

    Thoughts? Solutions? Pictures?

I did it also ...actually installed two ….. if one is used for actual cigarettes - make sure the wires you use are of a heavier gauge and fuse for 15 amps ..... Mike

    Default Sure....

The analog guages did not work as well as the digital ones that appear on the screen. Many removed them as you have to remove both to get the digital ones to appear on the screen. They have been replaced with many different guages and power sources. The wires left are easy to use and active upon ignition one (switched).

What fillers did yall use to cover the holes up? Just cut a hole out of the gauge plug that is there? Is there something Can Am makes that would make it look factory instead of like a retarded monkey with a Dremel got a hold of my bike (as that's exactly what it would look like).

The disks should be covering standard 52mm holes. There are a variety of items that can go in them; voltmeter, cigarette lighter, USB port, etc.

Here's an example on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/HOTSYSTEM-Uni...s&sr=1-1-spell

Once the gauges are out, do you just use the existing wiring for any new gauges you want to install?
