Default Good Deal? 2011 RTS $14k

    I'm looking at a 2011 RTS with 8k miles for $14k.

    Is that a good price?
    Are the RT's reliable?

Gotta tell you...I just got rid of a 2010 RS that I bought two years ago for $15K....the thing had about 6K on it when I got it and had nothing but trouble and it nickle and dimed me to death....I didn't know the 'source' of the bike and only found out later that the 'dealer' (not a Can-Am dealer) buys them in Texas and ships them to SE Indiana on a flat bed...anyway, one time I had it in for service and it took 2 months to get it back...the dealer couldn't figure it out and sent it to another dealer. Finally determined it was the left handle bar switch gizmo (it would run ok, then jump into 'limp home' mode)...the last time it was a 'jumping' center dash display and the repair bill was $1200.00...at that point, I paid the bill and traded it in on a 2018 left over RT Ltd that was sitting on the showroom floor...and never looked back...
Want a recommendation??? Buy a new one....

A former GF, traded Her 2012 RT-S ( a two yr. old Spyder ) with 8,000 mi. and farkles in to a dealer in 2014 and received $12,500 that was 5 yrs. ago ….. so a 2011 RTS ( now 9 yrs old ) with 8,000 mi for $14,000 is imho a total rip-off …. BRP no longer even makes the V-twin engine to put in any Spyders they make now ….. Check the For Sale / WTB section quite a few Bargains currently there …… Mike

Spend a little more and get a 2016 or 2017. I had a 2011 and was a good scoot but the 3 cyl. is a lot better.

I traded my 2014 RT for a 2017 Mr. White RT-S. I am George Lewis. I live two miles from Boerne, TX. I am 89, retired USAF and Sony Corp. I also have a GW MotorTrike. My email: scoot62@aol.com

I wouldn't consider any 998, and the price you are talking about is no bargain.

Not a good deal. I sold my 2014 RT for $13k 2 years ago. It had about 21k miles, but also had 2 years left on the warranty and a load of extras. Sadly, the guy that I sold it too has a brain tumor and is looking to sell it. He only added about 2k miles in those 2 years.
