    Default Wiring for heated jacket.

    Can anyone direct me to the process to run the wire from the battery to under the seat to connect a heated jacket?
    I'm new to the Spyder. I have 2018 RT limited spyder.
    Thanks, my wife will be super pleased when I get this connected for her!!

    Default wiring a heated jacket

    Need some help in how to "snake" the wire from the battery to under the seat for a heated jacket.
    I have a 2018 RT limited. Also brand new to the Spyder

    Thanks,

    Remove the mirror, wind deflector, side panel. Put the connection under the seat, then run the wires up to the battery. Open the battery compartment, connect the two wires to the battery. Button everything up, making sure no wires are pinched anywhere.

    The amperage of the fuse will be determined by how much heated geat you want to use.

    I think I put a 15 in mine and I've run two jackets and charged two Sena 20s at the same time, and nothing has gone bad so far. My 1330 is charged by and alternator so that in itself helps a bunch.

    It should come with a pigtail to come from your battery. That should have an inline fuse of 15 amps.

    I believe the fuse is there to protect the wire from overheating. In home wiring, 14 gauge wire should have no greater than a 15 amp fuse, 12 gauge wire is 20 amp. I think 12 volt systems are the same.

    I went a bit over what you seem to be thinking of, but I wanted more outlets and didn't want to mess with the Can-bus system. Made a post here: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...ribution-block

    I ran the rider heated gear connection and just let it live under the seat, pulling it out by the glove box when I use it. The passenger connection runs to a knock-out where a wired intercom connection was under the rear of the left passenger hand hold on previous models.

    This might help with wiring and fuse selection.

    I= E/R or Current=Volts/Resistance
    Watts=Amps X Volts

    Wattage from 12V does not equal the same as 120V
