Default LED Headlight Kit - Has Anyone Used This Kit ?

Saw this LED headlight kit on Ebay for $64.95 and was wondering if any of the lighting gurus on this forum were familiar with it. I've thought about the Lamonster kit but am generally unhappy with some of the reviews I've read, mainly to do with the lighting pattern of the OEM reflectors not being real compatible with LED bulbs. Not sure if it's worth making the change. Anyone have any knowledge of this particular LED kit?

They have a 60 day return policy so if it won’t cost anything to try it why not go for it?

I too have been looking for LED Bulbs for my 2015 F3 S. These are also adjustable by rotating the bulb in the fixture giving you the correct light pattern.

LifeLongRider, from what I understand if the reflector is not compatible you will not get good lighting down the road. Which is my problem with the Lamonsters, also why am looking into driving lights.

Appears the lighting elements are on the sides only and create a "different" pattern than that of the original halogen bulbs. The maker of the Arc fog lights has a 360* element LED upgrade that promises a better pattern. Those are the ones I would go with.

I just got 4 sided LED lights on eBay for $21. They work great and light up the road much better than the OEM halogens. I don't think it matters which ones you get. The last ones in my wife's F3S were in there for almost two years without issues. We traded that one and I put the 4 sided LEDs in her new F3L.

BSCRIVE - thanks for the tip. I wasn't aware of the 4 sided H4 LED's but will certainly look into it.

bscrive, do you have a link to the lamps you bought? I ask because what you have works, and not all 4 sided LED's will work as well as yours do.

I'm happy with mine. They have filaments in the correct position to mimic the Halogen filament which work well with the prisms inside our assembly. Going with 4 sided may disturb your opposing traffic because the beam will not be focused. You will get light flickers at you

I have Lamonster's. They are ok, but I did a test with my wife driving towards me at night. She said they were too bright. Other oncoming traffic did not flash their lights at me, so I don't know. I shined the lights on the garage door. Seems to be some stray light. Knowing what I know now from reading, YOU SHOULD NOT PUT LEDS IN HALOGEN HOUSINGS. Read those capital lettered words 3 times and let it sink in. LED's need special projectors. I will never put LEDs in Halogen housings again.

Are you going to share with the class what lamps you used on your wife's machine or will it remain a mystery?

I've attached a picture of the r/h headlight reflector on my F3 Ltd. I see that light is reflected forward from both sides of the reflector but not from the top or bottom. The top side appears to be a "diffuser" and there is no reflective surface on the bottom side what-so-ever. I conclude that due to this design, four-sided LED's would add very little other than to appear brighter and would add even less to "down-the-road" lighting. But then the Halogen bulbs are 360's so who knows. I've decided to go with the two-sided LED kit as pictured in my opening post (which are pre-clocked left and right). I'll give them a try and post the results. I agree that the use of LED headlights would benefit greatly from reflectors designed specifically for LED bulbs but BRP just isn't up to speed yet on LED headlamps for the Spyder line. Maybe the next generation will have them.

I just installed a set of the Genssi bulbs. Just need to make sure the LED'S are clocked so that they shine to both sides. These easily adjust just follow included instructions. LED'S need to shine to the sides of the reflectors.
