Brake Caliper Issue
Hello,
I find myself in dire straits, so I'm reaching out in hopes for some MUCH needed guidance!
I have a 2016 RS SM5 and (it's in neutral, with parking brake off) the brake caliper has pushed the brake pads together and I can't get the rotor back in between them! The caliper won't budge...
I have learned that the calipers, on spyders built AFTER 2013, can't simply be pushed back in, but instead have to be turned counterclockwise, using the two holes in the face of the caliper itself, in order for it to go back into its housing...
That said, I CAN get it to turn counterclockwise, with no problems, but it will NOT move back inwards...it just turns and that's it. I don't want to turn it too much as I don't want to damage anything internally, since nothing is happening by doing so. I've removed the cap/ lid to the brake fluid reservoir, to release/reduce the pressure - to no avail. I've also disconnected the arm/ lever and spring and brake cable that attaches to the caliper itself...and I've removed the brake pads and shim. The entire thing has been thoroughly(!) cleaned with brake cleaner and an air gun/ compressor.
What needs to happen now, in order to fix my situation?!?! I have changed the rear tire before without so much as a hiccup, which is making this all the more frustrating.
If I continue to turn the caliper, will it eventually retract back or am I going to break it?
ANY help, instructions, and/ or recommendations is GREATLY appreciated and desperately needed! Thanks!

Can either google it or go in the advance search box and put brake change in it. Should be plenty there

The rear caliper piston turns clockwise (in), not counter clockwise.

Here is my trick: rotate caliper up, with a rag over it to pad it. Press it against the muffler. Have a helper hold it while you concentrate on getting the tips of a 6” needlenose pliers in the divots in the piston. Push hard while turning clockwise. Do that until it is flush with the caliper. Goes back together easily. Baja Ron has a tool that goes in the piston.

Great tip/ trick! Thanks! - I'll try that as soon as I get home, this afternoon! That pesky thing called "work" preventing me from jumping on it immediately!
I ordered the tool from BajaRon yesterday!
Thanks again!
