Default elka shocks on a gs front

    hi guys.
a mate has a 08/09 gs and we are looking at replacing the front shocks.here in aus the available model is listed as 2013 gs rs rss stage two.the local guy says they will only fit a early gs if we use the mount relocators on the top.i havnt been told why and really want to know.is the length longer and therefore would raise the ride height if we use the oem mount points.
baja ron told me the fox shocks although not listed to fit a early gs the later model will still fit and work great and didnt mention needing mount relocators.so im puzzled as to why elka need them.
any help would be great.im guessing someone has fitted elka stage two to a gs,

    cheers stu

Disclaimer: I have the PitBull shock relocators on my '08.

I asked that question of Elka and they said that they did not know about fitting the earlier machines.

I forget where I got the info that the Fox shocks would fit; probably my local Can-Am dealer, I 'think.'

I bought the Fox shocks last year and they fit just fine. I was going to buy the Elkas but they suddenly went up $100 USD so I opted for the Fox shocks.

PS) I bought my Fox shocks thru a local Can-Am dealer.

PPS) I made the decision that I just do not push my '08 that hard so I could not justify the nearly double the cost of the Elkas vs the Fox shocks.

I had elkas on my rss. You have two shocks types for 2008-2012 and 2013+. Same goes for Fox as far as i remember as i was on the same boat a year go. You have to look for elkas/fox for 2012 and prior.

Maybe someone here that has a 2013+ shock handy can give you the measurements so than you can compare with yours. I had hard time finding the length difference last time around
