Tupperware Question
A few weeks ago, I saw a video of someone removing and reinstalling the Tupperware on a Spyder RT. I saw him spray a blue liquid on the rubber grommet, I am assuming to make the pin slide in better. Can anyone tell me what it would be? or Give suggestions on how to put the panels back on without messing up the grommets?

if you want ease of installation, use only a silicone based product so as to not deteriorate the rubber grommet.
Personally, I like a little saliva, it is cheap, and when dry, grommets hang tight.

It’s Windex.

I concur.
While the pedantic purists will no doubt say that the alcohol in Windex will dry out the grommet, Windex works well especially if you don't want to lick the grommets.

+1 for Windex. Going on five years, no deterioration of grommets.

Windex?????
No thanks, a little silicon lube yes please.
My Gold wing had all original grommets @ 13 years old - silicon grease
+ my dealer applied it when reinstalling the tupperware.

IMO Windex is a better choice than silicone grease because the Windex dries thereby giving the grommet a nice, tight seal on the pin as opposed to silicone grease which is a semi-permanent lubrication that makes it subsequent removal of panels easier. I want the assurance that mine are all on tight. To each his own. Definitely no petroleum lubricant.

I keep loosing the grommet for the left side panel where you check the oil. The dealer wants $6 for one. Where else can I get cheaper grommets and any tips to keep them from falling off? I have a 2011 RT.

If you are loosing a grommet you can put a plastic zip tie around it to help hold it in. I have never had a grommet come out on the oil cover. Maybe you should start using Windex

Exactly why I use what I stated before -keeps the rubber pliable.
