Thanks to everyone who helped answer my questions. Today was the last day of the BRP sales and I decided to go with the blue RT LTD. I was hesitant for a while about the new dash, but the longer I played with it, it really didn't seem that complicated. Biggest problem I have found is every dealer I visited were less informed about the Spyder than I was (and I didn't even have one!) They were especially uninformed about the updates. I realize (at least by me) there are no Can Am dealers just "motorsports" dealers that carry the Spyder but it can really get frustrating trying to find someone with experience to answer questions.
Anyway here is my new addition, It is being delivered Friday!!
Congrats on your new spyder. When you mentioned most dealers did not know much about the dash, I became a victim of the exact same thing. After purchasing I checked the firmware version and it showed 10. I learned on this forum that the new firmware should be 20. I returned to my dealer in Fort Lauderdale FL only to find out they really don't know how to update it. I'm waiting to hear from Can Am on where to go.
It doesn't affect the ride and I hope you are having as much fun as we are with our new Spyder.
Congratulations on your new blue/chrome RTL! You will love it.
I know your frustrations with knowing more about your ride than the dealer most of the time. Sometimes they only look at BRP vin # and tell you what is available on the screen but they need to connect BUDS to get the update.
Be patient with the service manager and explain to him what you know is correct and refer him to spyderlovers.com Spyder subject you want his brain to take in.

That is ridiculous! I went to 4 or 5 different dealers and none of them could answer all my questions. Hopefully this will work for you, here is a link I used to find dealers in my area: https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/dealer-locator.html

Thanks! I just think they should know more than me about the bike BEFORE I even own one
I can understand knowing more after, but obviously I have done more research than they did and I wouldn't think that would be the case.

I hope you got this fixed. I made sure they new that after the new update you should see a readout of how many miles are left in the tank by the fuel gauge. That is a quick way to make sure it is up to date.
on your new ride...I took delivery of mine on 5/10,in White, and I just plain LOVE it!!!! Had a 2010 I traded in because it was costing me too much in repairs...the last one was $1200 for a new dash electronics...paid the bill and traded up...you will find that you need to go to a BRP dealer..(don't buy from some jamoke that only sells them as a sideline)...fortunately I found one, a good one...they deal Can-Am 4 wheelers, SkiDoos, and motorcycles (Spyders, F3's and Rykers)...I was surprised that they sold it to me with Firmware of 11.0, and when I discovered the problem (by reading this great Forum), I called and the Dealer maintenance guy said bring it in....15 minutes and $0.00 charge and I left with version 20 Firmware...
Still having problems getting everything to communicate with everything else, but that's me, a 1stG guy living in a 5G world....
