No thread prefix option
I am trying to post a thread on for sale forum. Keeps asking for thread prefix. I have no option to choose. Can anyone help me with this?

If you're trying to sell something, you select the drop down prefix menu and scroll to the bottom choice, Selling: FS ( for Sale)

Here's where you'll find the prefix box when you start a post in the For Sale By Owner thread...
Change the "no Prefix" to FS (bottom of drop down box)

You do that by clicking on the tiny little arrow in the box.

That image you showed seems to be of the 'quick reply' screen rather than the 'Post New Thread', 'post reply', or 'go advanced' screen (all 3 are pretty much the same, very similar to that shown in Purple Guys images. If you open the 'For Sale by Owner' index page, so you can see all the listed adverts, there shouldbe a RED 'Post New Thread' button up the top left or down below all the listings on the bottom left - click on either of those & you should get the page you want, with the drop down list with all the applicable prefixes for whichever section you're in.
And once your advert has done its job & your whatever is sold, you should be able to edit your first post, then click on 'go advanced' to get to pretty much the same screen, and use the drop down list to change the FS: to SOLD, then scroll down to the 'close this thread box that should be below the text field & tick it too, before scrolling back up a bit to 'Save Changes' - job done!
But if all else fails, send one of us Mods a PM & we'll give you a hand to get it all sorted!

I went ahead and moved it the For Sale area last night and sent KAPike a PM.

Hello Peter,
Perhaps you can help me. Another member told me about the RED "Post New Thread" button you described; however, I can't find it on my version. I've tried using Chrome and Firefox both, w/o success.

Hi Patrick, are you at one of the main index screens, ie 'For Sale by Owner', where you can see a listing of ALL the advert threads?
The 'Post New Reply' buttons only appear on those higher level index screens, not on any lower level screen or a search result screen like 'New Posts' or if you are already looking at a thread. Make sense?!

BINGO! There's the answer. Thanks. Before I was looking at the page that was displayed when I clicked the FORUM tab at the top of the page. WHen I clicked on one of the discussions below it, the RED Post New Thread loomed up bright and unmistakable. Thanks again.
Patrick
