Anyone done a front wheel Tire rotation?

I’m just wondering has anyone rotated the front tires on the Rt Limited..?

Nope, never have. I would not recommend rotating the back with the front though not sure if people are swapping fronts from side to side, I myself do not, and don't see a point, in doing so.

The front tires (OEM Kenda) on a Spyder/Ryker are directional treads. If you do rotate them...you have to change the rims too.

Well, now I have to go look. I didn't pay attention when I installed my front wheels after the new tires were mounted. I didn't give a thought about them being directional. Have to check it out in the morning..... Jim

Couldn't wait till morning. Just checked and my tires are not directional. They just say "outside" on the outward facing side. Now I'll sleep better knowing that the Spyder is not shod incorrectly. BTW my tires ar Federal Formoza AZ01 175/55R15s..... Jim

Shortly before I swapped out my directional tread OEM front tires for new and better tires, I rotated them and drove them for another 800 miles. Nothing happened nothing changed and nothing went wrong. I did it during the summertime.

most of the car tires we put on out Spyders are not directional. Usually the directional warning refers to the original OEM tires.

I never bothered rotating the Kendas, but on my Formozas, which are asymetrical, I did rotate them when if I gad the bike on jacks gir maintenance. I got 45,000 miles on my last set of Formozas.

Ann this is interesting … my experience with wear on the front tires has been - with correct alignment the tires wear Evenly across the tread.….. The tire rotation thing is from BRP which normally doesn't sell the Spyders with correct Alignment ….. Mike

Probably didn't drive enough miles to notice the breakdown. But my guess is that it was happening. Driving directional tires in the wrong direction usually causes ply and tread separation over time. I have seen the results. Perhaps with the OEMs being only 1 ply, it may not be as quickly noticeable and may take more time for them to start bulging and getting out of round.

The directional notation on most all tires is related to the tread design and water shedding, not any tire construction characteristics. As least that's what I found when I did some research about it.

The Formoza's aren't directional, they are only marked "outside". You can rotate them.

Yes, they are asymmetrical and it is easy to rotate so I do when I’ve got the bike jacked up.

Blueknight Mike I don’t understand what you’re saying. I never bothered rotating the Kendas as I couldn’t get rid of them quickly enough
