Default Finally found a LED bulb for tail light

it's sold at pepboys for 25 bucks.
only have them in red. i wish it was white than it would be brighter but it's brighter than stock.
bigger reason for led for me was not having to change them often thou.
i already had to change them 3 times so...
i don't know if you can tell but on first pic, right side is the led. in person led is brighter than stock bulbs.

i only have 40 miles on them but i am going to san diego today so i will report if any problem comes up.

finally, 5th times is the charm

last pic is... was my fiberglass speaker pod that was just ran over by a pick up i just did the body filler and was ready for little sanding than paint...

I have the NMN product for the taillight...I see the packaging (your pic) says you don't have to fiddle with the computer, but how do you know that light is really compatible with the Spyder? We know Evan tests his products a lot...

after 4 more hours of ryding, there is no sign of any problem.
supposedly, this led has a chip in it to prevent triggering sensors and seems it is working. all the other led i tried triggered spyder's sensor immediately.

Actually, for LED bulbs, the bulb color needs to match the lens. "White" LED's don't have the same amount of red wavelength as normal bulbs. You need maximum red production to get it through the red lens.
If you use white LED's, your lights will be much dimmer once the red lens is replaced.

AKA1004, please keep us posted. If you continue to not have any problems with these LED replacements, that's terrific news! Are they made for the other Spyder lights too?

    kool
that does explain why white led that i have tried before in the taillight lens was dimmer than stock bulb(which triggered the sensors).

Obviously it's compatable if he put it in and it's working. Thanks for finding this ----- will be buying some this weekend! All that was needed was an electronic circuit to draw the proper amount to fool the Spyder computer. Most new cars will just give you a break light alert, or flash, etc. BRP should have done the same on the Spyder - a warning about a burnt out bulb - not causing the bike to go into limp mode---

Just a side note... that circuit is not monitored.

    Default LEDs

www.LEDlight.com has all kinds of super flux bulbs in all colors.

Prices range from 7.99 for white pucks to 27.99 for the superflux super bright 1156, 1157 and other types of bases including the wedges in GL1800s.

The Superbright Luxeon 3 Watt is very bright, maybe 2x stock. The Luxeon 5W are absolutely stunning! I've used the 3W in bikes, not tried it in the Spyder yet.

Hey aka, can you come up with a part number (do you still have the packaging), or should I just go and look at my local Pep Boys?

Are they two stage? That is do they work as driving and brake lights? When you press the brake do they get brighter yet?
