    Default Parking Brake

    On level ground with parking brake engaged I cannot get the bike to move by pushing on the back but today I parked on a steep incline with parking brake engaged I could push the bike ahead anyone else had this problem what was it and how was it resolved 2014 RTS Thanks

    Hasn't happened to me yet, but I suggest you tighten the adjusting nut on the cable.

    Rudy, check your pads on the rear brake. If they are ok, use 2 12mm open end wrenches to release the jam nuts on the parking brake cable. Move the aft nut aft, then tighten the forward nut to adjust the cable. Test. If the parking brake motor is shot, you can see the arm on the caliper move, then loosen. Bad motor.
    Check pads, adjust cable, watch for inoperable motor. Call if you need help. Joe

    I know of three of us on this forum who have had parking brake motors replaced under warranty including me at about 9K miles.

    getting my pb replaced at spyderfest currenty disengaged oh joe that's a 10mm open end needed not 12,,mines 2015rtl also out of warranty bummer for me.



    Tall flag mount, spyderpops skid plate & stainless steel screen mesh, airhawk adjustable cushion, raised white lettered tires.
