    Default Won't go into neutral

Yesterday I had my bike towed to the nearest dealer, Malcolm Smiths in Riverside. The bike, an ES6 2015 RT, would not go into N when I keyed on. It would remain in R. Several attempts at keying off and on were unsuccessful. Using the red rocker switch did nothing. I called Lou Gutowski, my friend and personal mechanic, who said the pod at the gear paddle may have gone bad. Its cheap and have had a few complaints. When the bike came off the tow truck the service dept found no problems. It started right up. But they will look at it closer on Tuesday. No error messages. Has anyone else had this problem? TY

    Yes.
Seems to happen across MANY model years, mostly because of what your friend said.
    Many discussions about it here.
If you are out of warranty, you probably won't like the price of replacing that left side control cluster.

Do you need hydraulic oil pressure for an SE6 to shift? The way I read it, he only turned the key on, cycled the Kill switch, but didn't actually have it running. It didn’t start until it got to the dealer.

I am confused as well. It's not possible for a SE model to shift without the engine running. That's normal. Not sure what the problem was.

So, like an SE5, you need to put your foot on the brake, it starts, then it puts itself into neutral?

    Default Interesting....🤔

Seems to be a need for additional information and would agree with the fact the shifting will not occur without the egine running. Not that familiar with the newer models..... are you still able to manually shift them into "N" like the earlier models..? Hope that that was the problem.....

Yes the SE6 is the same as the SE5. Following attached from the 2015 owners manual.

I have had problems when not parking on a flat surface. I’ve had to take the parking brake off and rock the Spyder back and forth a couple of times. Then it went into neutral.

The brake pedal was pressed for info. Everything was normal but the bike did not start and remained in gear. The computer splash screen came and went away when the MOde button was pressed.

So the problem was that it would not start and had nothing to do with going into neutral.

Bottom line it wouldn’t start for me no matter what I did. After it was loaded on the tow and bounced around for an hour it started. I do not know why. The techs will look at it Tuesday
