Default Swaybar on the Rally Edition

Has anyone with a Rally edition installed the Swaybar, and if so, did it make any appreciable difference in the bike’s handling?

Everything takes longer than expected. Everything seems to be right on the cusp of being able to go into production. The problem is, the cusp keeps getting bigger with small details. It's always this way.

We would rather you take the time to do it right. We are patient -- mostly!

Frankly, I was hoping to have the bar kit ready by now. With the economy the way it is, my fabricator is covered up. He's got 4 CNC machines where he only had 1 just over a year ago. Employees and other equipment have been doubled and tripled as well. It's just very busy for all of my suppliers these days. This is a good thing! But it has slowed the process some.

I am going to say these kits will be available at the end of April. I really think we may be able to get them out sooner. But at this point. I want to be conservative with my estimate.

The small details are important. I'd rather wait than get have the job rushed.

I'm pretty sure you can upgrade to the other models also.

The sway bar kit will be for all Ryker models. My plan right now is to release the sway bar kit at Spyderfest. My understanding is that SpyderPops will be installing the BajaRon Custom Performance Ryker Sway Bar at Lamonster Garage during the event. I am not going to have time to get the retail packaged bar kit ready until after Spyderfest. This timing hinges on everything coming out of production soon enough for me to get these bar kits shipped to Spyderfest. It will be close, I know we are running out of time. But my fabricator feels like it can be done.

Don't hold Lamonster or SpyderPops to this schedule. They are willing and able. It is my responsibility to supply the product. Which I fully intend to do. As long as everything goes as planned.

If you are asking me. I am sorry. I am not sure I understand the question. Are you asking about the differences between my upgrade bar kit and BRP's?

Is the install going to be as complex as the BRP sway bar?

No. It will not be nearly as difficult to install as the OEM sway bar upgrade. It's almost like BRP engineered this sway bar to be unnecessarily difficult to work with. The BajaRon Bar will also be a bit larger in diameter and stiffer than the OEM upgrade bar.

The difference between the Bajaron Custom Performance sway bar and the BRP upgrade sway bar will be substantial overall. It will be much easier to install. It will be slightly larger diameter and stiffer than the BRP upgrade bar. And it will come with bullet proof, metal Heim Joint links. I don't want to go into all of the differences until I have the retail production model available. But frankly, I think people will be impressed. We'll see.

Absolutely, I can send to France. I will ship bar kits, and anything else I carry anywhere in the world it is legal.

I don't have a price yet. Production costs are never for sure until you go through the process. I will know soon.

I wonder how much labor the dealer charges to install the Can Am Sway Bar? I can do it myself but honestly their instructions are pretty horrible for all accessories. I think their price of $150 isn't bad, I may add it to mine when it comes in and get the 10% discount they offer on accessories.

I don't mean to discourage you. But this install is a real bear. Makes all the other sway bar installs look like a walk in the park. Honestly. I am surprised that a dealership can do this install in 2 hours. When we did it, going by the book didn't get it at all. We had to disassemble much more than BRP called for to get the swap done. Now if it were just me then I wouldn't even mention it. But I have had vendors who regularly install all my other bar kits call me and ask if I'd done a Ryker bar install because they were having so much trouble and frustration with it. These are guys that do this for a living.

This is why we've gone to so much effort to simplify and reduce the amount of time and effort to install our bar kit. Frankly, I couldn't see very many, if any DIY'ers wanting to do their own work on a Ryker sway bar upgrade. It appears that BRP really engineered this to be a dealer only job.

If you go for it. And you find a quicker, easier way to do it. Please let us know.
