Can you make me one! Was out today on my Rally and the only complaint was my windshield is too small. Not sure why BRP though the small shield was a good idea?...

I think there's certainly a place for the smaller one. I still haven't opened mine yet as I'm still debating if I even want to put it on, I personally wouldn't have even considered it if it were larger.

I can see a market for both as I'm sure plenty of riders will want a larger / taller one also, but that doesn't mean there isn't also one for the smaller "sportier" version.

I had an old shield laying around the garage. So, I broke out the dremmel and took it down in size a bit to make it work. It feels quite sturdy but we'll see tomorrow when I get it back on the interstate and get it up to speed. Hopefully it will not fly back in my face

I cutted the lid of the glovebox in two parts - one is fix the other can be opend - and i add a lock (for the same key like my shad) then you can use each shield - fixed on the handelbar and it ooks more sporty ..

Unintended benefit of my new windshield. When set in the lowest position, you cannot open the glove box. So, who needs a glovebox lock? Just don't tell anybody about this

I did the same. CalSci shield (medium) came in on Friday and I mounted it right away. I have done 200 miles since then and I am very happy. My only concern is that I have less of a feeling of speed than I had with the stock shield. I will need to recalibrate my wrist to stay out of the blue lights.

My stock shield is for sale on the trade/sale section at a discount.

How hard was it to mount the new windshield?

No issue at all. Used original hardware from Can-Am screen. Used same mounting points (4 bolts).

If you are referring to the CalSci windshield it was very easy using their instructions. They sent fasteners and a new mount and the new mount used the same four bolt holes that the stock screen uses.

Have the CalSci windshield, Tall version. The four screws for the shield were 1/8 inch short. I used my own screws.

Suggestion... Check the bolt the holds the display. Mine can lose.

I agree, the brp windshield is more like a very over priced toy. I already had a rock hit my full face visor, the windshield is way to short to do it's job unless your fairly short.

Decided to install the BRP one this weekend after much debate with myself (kind of prefer naked), and I actually quite like it in the low position. Its pretty unobtrusive and blocks more wind than I had expected.

None of the factory accessories are inexpensive, but its well made and suits "my" needs pretty well. I think its been said already, but if it helps others, be sure to adjust the "locking" mechanism before installing. Mine was a bit loose, but a turn of the adjustment screw was all that was needed prior to installation. Took as long to unbox and find the washers as it did to install.
