Today will be our last day with Bob and Joyce. It was a great time spent after not having seen each other in 43 years and 3 months. Had it not been for the internet we would not have reconnected after all these years. Today Bob will take us on another tour of the countryside, doing the covered bridges scenes. Tomorrow Jennifer and I will be on the road once again, heading for HDXBones and friends. From there we want to go to Cape Cod, Mass. and revisit Otis, AFB after 43 years. Then it's on to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
The WestCoastSpyder banner is slowly collecting names. This journey will be one to remember! We have met so many wonderful people and looking forward to meeting many more.
Last night it rained almost 2" of rain while we slept. Today is sunny and so will tomorrow be.

They are coming here tomorrow. I gotta work and then have to work on Tuesday unfortunately. But at least I'll get to see them tomorrow night. I think Roaddog is giving them an escort ride on Tuesday.

We will be leaving about 10 AM, traveling I-81 north to I-84 east to CT 34 south to Shelton, CT. Bones said 4-5 hours travel time. Looking forward to meeting everybody. Jeuchler, we hope to catch you on the way back from Nova Scotia. Time is flying for us, but it's been a great trip.

Time if flying, we are on vacation, but we do have to get home some time, I guess.
It's been lots of fun so far. Kind of funny that we are not even half way through the trip. So much to see and do and people to look forward to. Feeling a bit of sensory overload and overwhelmingness (?). Anyway...Can't fit everything there is to see in a short time span so maybe some year we will be back. Bob and Joyce have been wonderful and I hate to say goodbye; maybe I should send Bob and stay here and visit! No, on we go.
Catch everyone later.

Sounds good--we actually have to go out to the Cape, but by truck again--we'll look for you there or see you on your return trip from NS!

We made it to Shelton, CT earlier than I thought. HDX met us in town and escorted us to his house...I would never have found it in my lifetime! Roaddog came over and we met him and then we all went to eat at Marnick's Restaurant where Roaddog's wife met us. Of course, everyone signed the banner, pictures we taken, and the food was GOOD!

Jennifer's Take July 13, 2009
Ran through to Connecticut today. Had to leave Joyce and Bob behind, SIGH but that was a wonderful meeting.
Met Lou in Shelton, CT and he escorted us to his domain; good thing he didn't just give us directions! Talked for a while and I had to stick my nose around the place to see what was what. Looking for plants and general trivial snippets. Kim came home and we met and chatted a bit and then Mike came over-you have to figure the screen names yourself. We met up with Mike's wife Pat at the beach.
Supper at the eatery on the side of the ocean. Nice meal, nice people, nice view; gee it was all nice. Tried running to catch the sunset but it eluded me. Pictures aren't going so well. Lots of trees, hills, churches and a few plants. Everything kind of looks the same between Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Connecticut; the same but different in small ways. Awesome to me because they don't have them in the size and colors and stuff that we do at home.

We left HDXBones' house this morning and headed east. Roaddog was our escort, so I don't have much of a clue what roads we took until we got on our own. I know we passed through Newport, RI etc. After he left us to return so he could go to work, we found our way to I-195 to the Cape. We met vt228 and his wife, had a banner signing, picture taking, and Don took us to a motel in Sandwich, MA. We went to the store got a couple of TV dinners and some Blackcherry Soda, and after eating, we are sipping some coffee. Tomorrow vt228 will escort us to Plymouth, MA for Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower, then we will get on I-495 North and ride out of Massachusetts by way of I-95 North.

Dudley, are your plans to stop in NH on the way up or on the way back?
You have my number. Just give a call. I'm right off I-95 in NH.

Jennifer's Ramblings July 14, 2009
Today was a beautiful day; sunshine seems to follow us so far. Quite a few clouds up there and we do kind of wonder if it will rain, but we are so used to very clear, blue skies that any clouds are suspicious.
We followed Roaddog to Newport, RI today-hope your bite is doing OK Mike. People were walking around in shorts and skimpy tops-Dudley and I are still finding the air chilly. Lots of boats, sun, people, and lovely buildings. My neck gets quite the adjustment as I whip it from side to side and look behind me and up at the sky; I tend to wiggle a lot for any of you who may some day ride behind us, lol.
Looked at a few mansions after Roaddog left to go to work (what dedication) then got a call from Mashpee and we headed out that way. Lovely things to see but I sure wouldn't want the responsibility of up-keep.
Met Don and Sue for a banner signing and then we went motel hunting; in season rates on the Cape, lol. Didn't have much time to visit, but was nice meeting another Spyder couple. Should be seeing Don tomorrow so he can escort us up the road.
Enjoy the pictures, I have stopped taking as many postable ones; is that a word? Anyway...

We had a great day with Don, aka vt228. Thanks to him I have a new OEM rear tire, and like he said, turn-key cost was $225 plus tax! If anyone wants to know where to get such a deal, contact vt228. Don already said what we did. Had a good relaxing time. and the phone...several years ago I dropped my wallet in a toilet, so I take my cell off the belt. Today I forgot it! Walked about 3 blocks at a fast clip to get back to it and it was still there. Some good people are still left in this world.
The I-495 was great. Traffic moved very well, just had a couple of bottlenecks, but not lasting long. We are staying in Salem, NH tonight. Met up with tat2r, got the signing and pictures done. Had a great time just talking. Tomorrow we meet with DynamoBT.
Our plan tomorrow is to proceed north on I-95 towards and into Maine. If anyone in Maine lives near I-95 and wants to sign our banner, please contact us...520-400-1671. This has been such a great experience. Everyone we met seems like someone we have known for years. The memories of this trip will be forever lasting. Thanks to everyone for taking a few minutes out of your busy schedules and sharing some time with us. I feel that you all have become our brothers and sisters.
