Gas stain
I had a gas spilled while filling up and ended up with nasty stains on the black plastic behind the floorboard. Any idea how to clean it off?

Tried the Black Dymond from Lamonster but the ghost comes back out as soon as the product dries.

To my eyes ....that looks exactly what I have seen when you spray ArmourAll on and it drips down ???? …… I find it interesting that LaMont's product didn't re-move it ……. Mike

Look in the Meguiar product line. They have a plastic cleaner and restorer (#40 or 34) that will fix it. Sorry, I am not at my place to get you the exact number.

The top layer(s) of the finish has been damaged.
A heavy duty cleaner (rubbing compound) followed by a paste wax might help a lot but it won't be a permanent fix.
I suggest a visit to a body shop.
It is possible that only the clear coat is damaged and an additional new coat might fix the problem.
Professional advice is usually the best.

If all else fails..... a mixture of acetone and WD40 over the whole panel has worked for me. You do have to remove the panel as to not get it on any other parts. Do a little test on a spot to see as different gasolines have different additives and again this is after you try all those other products mentioned above...

Your going to laugh, but it works. WD 40 works great. Rub, rub, rub, then leave it on for an hour. Then wipe the excess off. Have used back to black as well, but the WD40 works better and lasts longer.

I have used Simple Green, straight not diluted, and a scrub brush. It has worked wonders on my ST1300 black plastic and radiator.

Thank you all for your comments.
Tried Meguiar's Endurance. It's a pretty thick product for tires and so far it seems to have taken care of it. Although it might be that since it's thick it takes a while to dry out. I'll keep an eye on it for the next couple of days.
Thanks again.
