Default F3 Special Series Triple Black - Black or Chrome exhaust???

I am looking to spruce up my ride a little. Looking at the chopped rear fender and want to upgrade my exhaust to something not too obnoxious, but enough of a rumble to hear to hear that it's been upgraded from stock. I have the triple black model. I'm thinking black exhaust, but my husband says chrome or stainless to make it stand out. Looking for fellow F3 rider suggestions and pics if you have similar or have seen an aftermarket exhaust on a triple black F3. (I can't manage to flip the pic - sorry if it uploads sideways) It's pretty much stock except for footboards and windshield.

    Suggestions please...Thanks!!

    Default Welcome spyderlover....

I usually recommend removing the catalytic converter as a first step if you are only looking for a change. If you want more there are many clips on Youtube that can give you an Idea of the different sounds out there. The rear fender kits are great and expose the big rear tire on these machines. I do not have an F3 but have seen the mods done.

I on my F3 S I mounted the yoshimura that recommends can am together with the tube to eliminate the catalyst, I am very happy with the result achieved.

Thank you! I'll have to check into removing the catalytic converter.

I would have to agree with you on going with a black exhaust.
Though I have lots of chrome on my Spyder your Triple Black looks great and IMHO a chrome exhaust would take away from that look...

I think chrome/stainless would make it look unbalanced so another vote for black.

Easy choice when your spending someone else's money but they do look and sound cool.

I just removed all the chrome from my F3S & had it powder coated black. Even my straight shot muffler is black now. Looks 100 times better, I’m not a big fan of chrome at all. I would install the cat delete with can opener baffle & keep your stock muffler. You’ll get some more sound, less heat & its way cheaper than a muffler.

Haha, that is much easier! I do like the look of the carbon fiber. After looking at the video, I searched YouTube and found other systems like the Lamonster and VooDoo. Also Punisher RLS. Anyone know anything about those??

So far "all black" is winning in this forum. And I like the sound of more sound and less heat and...cheaper, lol. Taking in all your suggestions. By the way...

Another vote for black or the dark looks of the Akrapovic Sinister for your Spyder. If I did that one Id start with keeping the Catalitic and just seeing if you like the sound of the muffler first. If you want it louder, Id go with the RLS cat bypasswith a baffle on it or 2. The RLS bypass gives you a lower deeper sound.

I'm running the can opener baffle and the big city thunder baffle in Lamonster' bypass pipe with stock F3t muffler.
I'm satisfied, not too loud or too raspy, and not too expensive.
I noticed Lamonster does not have the big city thunder baffle with his delete pipe anymore though.

The rims are machined finish, not chrome. But still don’t know what I want to do with them.

What kind of exhaust did you install? Black chrome is enough to try to keep nice :/

I did the cat delete pipe and drilled the bottoms out of the baffles in the stock can with a long 1/2" bit, sounds great, I have always liked the look of the stock can

I you do live and ride in PA (Hershey) removing the cat might get you a fail on inspection. Some counties check some don't.
