Rear Wheel Bearings
Does anyone have any old RT rear wheel bearings, if so is there a number or letters and numbers stamped on them, if so can you tell me these numbers.
The reason I ask is I am told by a bearing specialist that all bearings have a number that relates to therir size, the number is intenational so whatever number you buy in whatever country, that is the size.
My RT has done 40,000 miles and I want to be prepared. I would like to use SKF bearings that are reputed to be the best in the world.
Whatever bike or machine I have had I have found this number system to be true, I order by number from said bearing specialist in UK and up comes the correct bearing every time, of whatever make or quality I want.
Had my wheel out last week for new tyre, but bearing numbers were stamped on underside so not visible
Thanks
Alex

I could not find a number on my bearings. The seal is from NSK, but that does not mean they are NSK bearings. I deal with NSK all the time and they always have the part number on the bearing races.
The best thing to do is take the bearings to a bearing distributor and have them match the bearings to the NSK or SKF equivalent. That's what I plan to do next time.

All 3 bearing can be purchased from a bearing supplier but the hub seal are an odd size and only genuine will fit -p/number 293200094.
The wheel takes 2 of 6205-2RS bearings. Three O-rings 15x3mm needed (can't remember what for exactly) and one 60x3mm. The pulley takes a 5006-2RS bearing and you may also need Loctite 660 plus Loctite 7471 primer/accelerant if any of the bearing aren't tight in the bore where they sits.
The best substitute for brains & knowledge is....................silence.

Just to clarify, the seal I mentioned was the seal on the sealed bearings themselves.

Rear bearing
This may not apply because my Bearings packages dates are in 7/13 !!! …. one package rear bearing is stamped U.S - NSK …..part # 293350065 ( NSK on the seal also )….. I believe all Spyder 15inch wheels have the same rear bearing …..the only marking on the bearing inside RACE itself is " .UR " ...stamped on the SEAL is 30BD40DF2 ( not easily read !!!% may not be correct ) ………The NEW front bearings I have are for 14inch wheels ( the new 15 inch may be different …… Part package # 29335055 ...on the bearing seal is #6205DU2 NSK made in China ... .. good luck …. Mike
