    Default Rear wheel centre stuck

    Hi guys
    Anyone had this problem or got an easy way out.
    Rear Wheel 2014RT, removed the 5 nuts and bolts that hold the centre into the rim but it just won't budge, it's stuck I imagine with alloy corrosion, I'm loathed to hit it with anything, but I want to remove it to re paint it as the paint is peeling.The part I'm pointing to is the part I'm trying to remove, wished I'd have greased it last time I had it off.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated

    I can't answer your question aged-one but I am interested in how well your coffee maker works with the Spyder having a reputation for battery charge sensitivity?

    Spray the area where the two pieces meet with penatrating oil/wd40 let sit for no less than 1/2 hour, and then using a dead blow hammer tap around the hub (the price you want removed) until it's free.
    The dead blow hammer should not harm it, but it may take awhile.

    USe some penetrating oil like PCB and let it sit a bit then retry. A rubber or dead blow hammer should do the job..

    Slip the axle in 5 or six inches. Put rags or a pillow below the hub. Press on the axle. Has always worked for me.

    RazzleH, it's not really a "coffee maker " in the true sense, it's a heating element that you put in a cup, I have a direct power socket in the L/H front speaker grill, just fused at 15A direct to the battery ( have a lithium battery), I put a cup of water in the L/H cup holder, leave the engine running, put the heater in the cup and plug it in, when it's boiled, about 4 or 5 mins, I carry tube sachets of instant coffee, tea bags and dairy stix UHT milk, Hey Presto, tea or coffee at the roadside. Beats a warm can of cola anyday. No charge problem, my charge rate is over 14v, I also have led headlights which leaves more charge room for coffee. you have to get your prioritirs right.

    Incase you're wondering about the Baguette Holder aswell, I put the baguette across the top of the dashboard and lower the windscreen until the windscreen wiper motor touches the baguette and jams it tight to the dashboard. yes I know it's cheating but when you live in france you have to have these silly methods or drop the bread on the way home.

    From the back of the wheel use a flat head screwdriver and tap the cap at each clip area. go around the cap doing this, little by little the cap will
    move until it comes off. I see this problem everyday at work.

    I had the same issue - the rubber pucks can be very tight - try what Joe said - it's a tight fit the first time, as far as removing it …… Mike

    Thanks for all your input. I think some of you thought it was the sprocket side I was trying to get off, that came off easily, it's the big centre hub where the rotor bolts onto, however dosed it 3 times in 24 hours with WD40, then used a mallet and a thick block of wood.
    Still would not move, as tight as if the bolts were still in, may have to give up. Why is everything so difficult on these bikes

    HALLELUJAH, I got it off, I percevered with the WD40 finally trying a hair dryer to heat the rim part keeping away from the hub, a piece of wood and a club hammer and bit by bit it started to lift.
    A bit different to last time when it was much newer, I removed the bolts and it fell out.
