Differences in 2013 and 2018 RT Limited?
Hi folks, getting ready to purchase a 2013 RT Limited.
Are there major differences in them?
Specifically the display?
Thanks in advance!

Excuse me, but you are asking for a rather large amount of information that is readily available in multiple sources immediately available to you. First, go to this site, http://www.operatorsguides.brp.com/I...adster&type=og, select and download the operator's guide for the RT model of each year and read them with the degree of thoroughness you believe will give you the information to make what you believe is a sound purchase decision. Second, do a search on this web site for 2013 RT heat problems and corrective measures. Third, if finances force you to focus exclusively on a 2013 RT model year, go one year older and try to find a low mileage, well cared for 2012 RT. If finances are not the driving factor, skip the two model years you are considering and look for good deals on RT MYs '14 through '17. Lastly, If you want to tackle a first year new electronic display system with its to be expected technology bugs, go for the '18.

otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

There are major differences, and the display is the least of it. The 2013 still has the V-twin and 5 speed transmission. Starting in 2014 -2017 the RT got a 1330 three cylinder engine and 6 speed transmission. The maintenance schedule is double between oil changes, and the valve check is not necessary. In 2018 the drivetrain remained the same, but the display changed. Where are you in NC? I am in the Apex/Cary area and would be glad to meet you to discuss anything that you would like to know about a spyder. I also know how to shop for a great deal. My number is 919-649-2433 if you want to reach out. Good luck shopping.

Huge differences. Not even close to the same machine. The 2014's are a much better product. If you're getting a very good deal then it's a decent enough ride. If not, I'd look for a 2014 or newer.

Very good answers, and thanks!
I had read of the fire issues, I'm going to make sure that this one had those addressed!

Fire issues, though catastrophic, were very rare. The best way to address this issue is a Canister-Ectomy. Easy, cheap and permanent.
You do get the new frame geometry and Brembo braking system with the 2013. These are good. You don't get the better suspension (shocks) or the 1330 engine. Shocks are easily upgraded, though not exactly cheap. But the 1330 motor is a very good upgrade in power plant. Both are very reliable. But the 1330 is much better suited to the duties of hauling a 1,000 lb + vehicle around.
As I said, the 2013 RT is a fine ride. Just be sure you're getting a good deal. If you can find a 2014 or newer for anything near what you're looking at for the 2013, I'd go that direction.

do you want a Golden Delicious or a Granny Smith ? The difference in the two is reflected in what it costs to purchase either. Can you dig ?
