What's that lock exactly? Do you have a link?

Bfromla, it's a larg post that fits into a pocket on the P-Brake. I pulled on the P-Brake and unless you pry or brake the handle it will not rotate. Everyone knows if someone wants to steal your ride they will.
WiliamTRyker here is the link for the part. the install was easy. just unscrew the bottom of the cover and pull up and slide the lock into place, oh, you will need some 5m,1.0 or 5m,0.8 screws to mount it. i used a step drill bit to cut the hole out.

This looks like a really good idea. Might be a good option for dealers to add

Apparently, this is on Rykers for Outside North America. I just looked at page 14 of the newly updated owners manual.
It shows this lock system.

I sent my dealer the part number and pictures and they said they would start stocking them and may include some as an option for the rykers in stock.

I did the same.

@Ravent25 Thanks for posting this. I didn't even know this was an option for the US market. Seems easy enough to do and the price is good.

Seems to me, it would just slow down my getaway! cueman

Met a Ryker ryder yesterday works at local Bass Pro he uses a disk lock IMG_9588.jpgIMG_9586.jpg said found on amazon had to take battery out, alarm was too sensitive. But does fit in the glove box when riding. He only got bike in January still breaking in.

It has been awhile since I looked into these, but I seem to recall that a lot motorcycle disc locks have two added features:
1. An Alarm that sounds if the bike is disturbed or attempted to roll, thwarting thieves and also preventing you from riding away with it engaged. Sensitivities of the alarm vary between various makers. Some insurance companies will discount your bike insurance for the alarm feature.
2. A bright colored lanyard that goes from the lock to an obvious place like the handlebars or seat to remind you its there before trying to ride.

I installed the lock this past Monday. I ordered it from slingmods for $19.95. You can see the beefy post in retracted position. (Sorry for rotated picture)

Being able to lock the parking lever is appealing, but keep in mind that when the forward-reverse lever is moved between F & R, there is a point of disengagement and the Ryker will roll freely. When I park on an incline, I back up to a curb, bumper, rock or something as a backup precaution.

If you put the disk lock with a motion alarm on the brake disk, you will not forget to take it off. You might be embarrassed, but you will remember the disk lock. The motion sensor is sensitive enough that all you have to do is swing a leg over the seat and drop your weight on it. If you didn't take the disk lock off, a 140 decibel alarm will go off. Just moving the handlebars without getting on the bike will set the motion alarm off. Using the key to take the disk lock off, you have 5 seconds to insert the key and turn it to unlock before the alarm goes off. I have been using disk locks for years. Only put the disk lock on if I am leaving the bike in a large parking lot or leaving it parked for several hours where I can't see it. Always use the disk lock when it is parked at a motel over-night.
