    What is the belt tension for a 08 can am 990? Anybody know the torque setting for the front sprocket bolt.? Last, how is the 660 loctite applied to the gear & or bolt. Thanks guys &gals

    Default Little checking.....

    According to the manual....
    front sprocket bolt is 81 ft lbs 2008-2009 later models 92 ft lbs
    Tension 450N +/- 150N ( we use the krickit and run 160 to 200 lbs, I keep it on the low side)
    Thread lock on the bolt threads only

    If you remove the front sprocket bolt it is recommended you install a new bolt (if ordered from BRP or Cheapcycleparts.com it will come with the thread lock already applied.

    I kept my 08 GS on the loose side about 165lbs ….measured ON THE GROUND …. I never had any issues and I didn't feel any vibes ….. Mike
