Default Question about short reach bars for F3 Limited

With the short reach bars on an F3, are the grips closer together (bars narrower) in addition to being closer to the rider? If not, does anyone make a narrower set of bars for the F3?

I have BRP's short reach bars on my F3-T. I don't believe that they are any narrower than the standard bars.

I agree, don’t think my bars are any narrower than stock.

My wife has the short reach handlebars on her f3L and they are very comfortable to ryde and control even though I am tall. If you are thinking they should be narrower, The narrower you make them the harder it is to steer around curves.

IMG_0178.jpgIMG_0176.jpg Wife loves the shorter reach bars on her 16 F3T. Not any narrower, but about 2" closer. Gives better riding posture for the shorter ryder.

ROX makes a riser for the F3 it should give you 2" closer you need.

Yep, Rox make risers in 2", 3.5" & 5". You should be able to find something that suites you.

There is even a Rox riser in the 1-3/4" length that pivots, so you can rotate bars up or down as well as bring them closer.

There is one specifically for the F3 from ROX you should only use that one it is only a 2 inch rise. It is a pivoting riser.

I have the 2 inch risers on my F3. If you get the 1 3/4 inch ones you won't be able to tighten down all the hardware. The 2 inch one barely gives you enough room. I had to change two of the mounting screws to hex bolts because you can't get the hex wrench directly into the screw head to tighten things. The 2 1/2 one would have worked better. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can't tighten the clamps down hard enough for the bars to keep them from slipping. I had to install an 8-32 screw through the clamp and bar to keep it from rotating. Works great and you don't notice it.

All I know is that 1-3/4" risers would have worked on my 2017 F3L, except for fact that they would not clear the additional bracket mount BRP uses for centrally mounted GPS. I personally tried to fit them. If I didn't have GPS, or had a Ram mount on bars, the 1-3/4" risers would have fit, and worked. My risers were 1" diameter; that was the size my bars measured at. Maybe if you had a different size diameter, there could be problems trying to tighten. I have a riding club friend with a 2016 F3T who has been riding his Spyder for a year with 1-3/4" Rox risers, no problem. He went with shorter length because he didn't want to stretch his cables. But, yes, if you have a BRP GPS bracket mount, the bolts at top are longer, and 1-3/4" won't fit properly. I also couldn't find a metric allen key that would properly fit the BRP bolts, so I made my own. In the end, I simply decided I'll probably go with short reach bars, but haven't yet switched.
