    Does anyone know of a source for the brass inserts for the body panels?

    I loooooooooooooooooove McMaster Carr ………… Yep they have them …… look at Helical and Threaded inserts ……….. I seriously doubt BRP sells theirs ….. Mike

    We fixed several of them. You find them on the bolt, pulled free of the plastic. Make sure the threads are ok, bolt is ok. Remove the 10mm bolt that holds the plastic part the brass insert goes in. Use a slightly smaller drill bit than the outside diameter of the brass insert. Drill to clean up the hole. Coat brass outside edge with glue, install from the inside out. Use a couple of flat washers on the bolt, and tighten the bolt to draw the brass into the plastic. Let dry while you do whatever you were going to do before you discovered the brass insert had come free. Once dry, remove the bolt, discard the flat washers, and put it all back together. Never use power tools on those bolts. Remove and replace by hand, every time.
