Where should I mount it ?
We were just gifted a v.360 camera. I have a double socket for my dash mount but am wondering how much distortion I will get from the windshield. Thanks guys

Good question. I got a GoPro for Christmas, was wondering how video looks through windshield. I have the Lamonster Spyder Cuff w Ram mount, but I also have that GoPro “Jaws” clip-thing. Kind of scared to rely on that but I’ve seen pics of people using them on snowmobiles. I also got a helmet mount, I may go that route. Planning a RC group ride for tomorrow, really want to use the camera.
Curious to hear from people who shoot through windshield, thanks for asking that Fire.

There won't be any distortion from the windshield if you mount the camera close to it, which it will be on the dash.

I use a TricLED bracket that bolts to the top of the dash under the windshield and I mount the GoPro to that. This is a short vid of a ride.

Here are two pics of how I have the GoPro mounted.

When in the sun, it looks like you are getting a glare off the windshield; but, I don't see any distortion.

I shot through the windshield with my Go-Pro: no problems at all.

I use the GoPro mounting plate stuck to the dash bracket and a flat head screw flush with the Bottom of the plate to make sure it stays. I use a GoPro swivel buckle to slide in/out which allows the camera to be positioned where I want it.

from your profile I see you have an RT. There are vendors here that have a dash mounting plate for that model. If you use the Ram ball mounting system you can go anywhere. I have two locations on my RS...

Dont know the V.360 camera but if it's a 360 view you will want something higher than you & a vibration dampener of some kind.
After this thread https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...ame-quot-video
I found a BLACK FIN 720 VR camera & still testing it. The helmet mount has the view, my body dampens vibration, just sux trying to keep my head in one position. Investigating 3rd person view selfie backpacks.

I have a Waylens 360 and this is what a 360 video looks like behind the windshield. You might want to go higher. I've tried but hate putting it on top of helmet and can't find a tripod to mount to the rear seat or trunk rack. (yet)
