Time delay prior to covering Syder
I have just purchased a full cover for my bike. Question: Do you wait for the bike to cool prior to covering? If so, for about how long? Problems??
Thanks!!

As long as you can hold your hand on the end of the muffler:

Since my Spyder generally lives in the garage I don't use my cover. I do put a small old sheet over it to keep dust off it. The sheet doesn't touch the muffler. Until the muffler cools a bit it could possibly burn a cover. So do what Bob posted …… Mike

I think all you have to be concerned about is the hot exhaust pipe(s). I'd be more concerned about putting it under full cover if it is still wet, and then only if it's going to be an extended period.

Agree...
couple of things... depends on the cover as some are plastic or have plastic lining so that would be the points that can melt on a hot muffler. Others have a protective barrier around the exhaust area so you could do that one right away. Some of the plastic ones can have condensation if hot and the temp is cold...

+1 on the Ultraguard cover. It has a panel on the inside that is a heat shield for the exhaust. It gets put on a few minutes after shutting down and mine shows no signs of heat damage. Also very water resistant if that is a consideration.
