    Default "My Daughters getting maried"

    Here's a toast I wrote for Vickie's wedding.

    My Daughter’s Getting Married

    My daughter’s getting married,

    we’ve gathered here today.

There’s so much I could tell you

I’m not sure what I should say.

    My daughter’s getting married,

where did the years go by?

I know I should be happy,

yet feel like I should cry.

    My daughter’s getting married,

    where did little Vickie go?

How fast the years have flown on by,

and how quick our children grow.

    My daughter’s getting married,

to start her brand new life.

    To someday become a mother,

    and today become a wife.

    My daughter’s getting married,

thank you all for being here.

To share this special day with her,

as the ones that she holds dear.

    My daughter’s getting married,

a new life she’s just begun.

And I’m not loosing a daughter,

but gaining a brand new son.

    My daughter’s getting married,

    your attention please I ask.

As I introduce Mrs. Benjamin Johnson,

    may your love forever last.

Evan, that was such a beautiful composition! Got a lump in my heart and a bit of water collected in my eyes. You are so right abought how fast our newborn children grow up. The older one gets as a parent, the more one realizes that. Now at 65 I often times wonder where it all has gone. Jennifer and I wish your daughter and new son the very best life has to offer. May their many rainy days bring sunshine and their sunshine days bring growth in love and understanding.
