The officer should be the one paying not the county, other officers might think twice next time they play tough guy.

I'm normally pro cop but in this case; looked like a bully with a gun and badge wanting to feel superior. If the rider was doing 75 to 80 (which he admitted) he should have been stopped and ticked but only if that deputy has that authority while off duty. There was absolutely no cause for him to have drawn his gun. He should have approached the rider with his badge out and should have been more courteous & less confrontational. Showing his badge and saying "we need to talk, could you please pull off the road," would have made this a whole different story.
