    Default CB1100 classic

This is interesting. They sure have the look right. I would be interested if the made a 750 that weights under 500 lbs. The 1100 is a behemoth.

They have the retro look right. Will remain to be seen how many jump on them again. Good stuff when they first came out.

Interesting... Put a Vetter up front, and some Givis out back: you'd have an excellent Horizon-Chaser!

The original ones liked to cook the two inner cylinders: almost as bad as the CBX...

My second motorcycle was a 1980 CB 650 Custom, in line 4 cylinder. It was a single overhead design based on the original 750. When I sold that bike, it had been from the Maritimes to Texas and back. It was my transportation for 3 years I was stationed in the South East. It had 85,000 miles on it. The only thing I did was add an oil cooler on when i bought it new. The only gripe i had with that bike was it only had a 5 speed. If i remember right, i got around 60mpg.

I really liked the looks of the 1100 and it sat comfortable for me. All was lost when I rode it. It had a vibration right at the 60 to 70 MPH zone and it wasn't much in the power area either.
Not a 1980, but close. 1981 and it is good for around 50mpg. I think the change to CV carbs on the 81 did help the smoothness a bit, but also hurt the mpg a bit.

Not quite the same---- but I did like my CB 900F. Fooled a lot of 600cc squids because I put CB750 side covers on it. It took a careful eye to tell the difference ( an oil cooler was the dead giveaway )

Mine was the blue and silver variant------- the 750 cc had the exact same paint and decals.

But the "600's" of that era could stay right with the Honda 750's------ Thus the sleeper
