    Default XPS oil

I was planning to use full synthetic XPS oil on my next oil change.
I know that spyder is filled with semi-synthetic but that seems to be summer grade and full synthetic is all weather and area I am in now can get down to 30 degrees.
both semi and full synthetic is listed as "for spyder" so it should be safe to use and and hopefully get rid of clutch slippage I was getting with Castrol power 1 full synthetic.
I was getting clutch slippage with Castrol power 1 even thou it meets the requirements.
either oil made by BRP should be good in spyder, correct?
    thank you in advance.

If the XPS full synthetic oil meets the API service code listed in your owner's manual, which it should, you'll be fine. You don't say what year/model Spyder you have and you're talking about clutch slippage with the Castrol, what is the API service code of the Castrol? Does it match the service code called for in your owner's manual?

    Default Your good...

XPS is the recommended oil and many like the full synthetic so your good with going to that. I have been using the blended for years and she runs like a top with it. There are other good oils but you have to search here to find them. BajaRon carries the Amsoil full synthetic for one.

The XPS will be fine. It is, after all, a Can Am branded product.
No need to worry about synthetic being for winter and a blend being for summer. That makes no difference.
There might be a different viscosity used but synthetic or non has no bearing on the season.

    Thank you.
Yea I was pretty sure full synthetic XPS oil would be fine but calling the blend a summer grade and full synthetic an all climate kinda threw me off.
Not whole lot of choices in 5w-40 and I didn’t like the “blend” so full synthetic made for spyder at about same price as other oils??? I will take it.

this is what I am getting. there was another oil pretty much identical to this one but NOT rated for wet clutch, also made by BRP that I was gonna order before reading Q&A that said it wasn't made for wet clutch. close call!
I matched the part number from brp's website to this so it should be good.

Since the BRP folks sre the ones saying that it's okay to use this oil: you're good to go with it!

After all: they'd never want you to use an oil that might potentially cause warranty claims.

    part#293600115 gallon, #293600112 quarts.
    No clutch slippage?
There is no api rating on the bottle but version that’s replacing this, supposedly is rated sm which spyder is not supposed to use.

Quite a few vendors have item below replacing 293600115.

It turns out even the synthetic blend is api sm rated, one that come in oil change kit but it’s says no sm rated oil in manual because it can caus clutch slippage. I am lost.

BRP says use whatever dealer says and if damage occurs BRP will handle it... sure...

    Default XPS Oil

I just got back from the Dealer. They have gone to the 'new oil' . No good answers at this time.
