Sirius radio updates

Anyone ever notice how often their subscription updates and about how long it takes ? Thanks

No.
Because I don't let mine automatically "update"......because their normal renewal price is ridiculously high.
I have always been able to negotiate a price that is half or less.

That also lets a company that I consider to be totally incompetent have access to your credit card.
I don't even let my utility companies have that. Mistakes happen and can be a bear to fix.

Sirius on my car- I Call before the 5 month or 6 month subscription is over and DEMAND NO MORE than $5 a month including any fee or tax ($30 for 6 Months) And they give it to me every time because I tell them I will QUIT and listen to FM if they don't? I explain I'm retired and ONLY in the car about 20 Minutes a day and will Not pay more!! It works if you stick to your Guns!!! I have Sirius at home on DISH Tv for a $6 a month fee.

Are you speaking of using XM with the spyder if so how are you connecting via the phone or some sort of module that integrates into the existing stereo and if so is is available via blue Tooth. This would be excellent, my wing has this built into the stereo and having it on the spyder would be perfect!

Well it's built into your RT and I'm sure the F-3 ( at least prior to 2018 )…… I have the Sirius ( for 6 mos. riding season )….just set your Radio to " AUX " and plug the XM into plug ( for MP-3 players etc.) in your frunk on right side as you face the trunk ….. for convenience I moved that plug to my glovebox ( see my Albums for it ) ….. works great ….. Mike

Sorry, should have been more specific. Referring to the software updates the radio does automatically. My truck does it at least twice a month and it takes a bit to finish. While it's updating you have no service.

We listen to Sirius all of the time, and have never noticed a loss of service during upgrades...

Why would anyone want Sirius? I had it back in the early 2000s while living in SoCal. SHORT playlists for each 'channel.' The only advantage was the poor coverage from FM stations on my daily commute of ~ 70 miles each way through the hills around LA. Sirius had pretty good coverage. I had to change FM stations several times each way.

But, today, I use an old iTouch for music. Plays when I want, costs me nothing, and it is ALWAYS music I like to hear.

I notice my Sirius radio does a channel update about once a month. Always happens upon startup and takes no more than 15-20 seconds...... Jim

...well that's too bad - yours is the only one that doesn't have it ….. contact your dealer and ask them to show you how the AUX. works …… Mike

EasyRider, IF you have a standalone Sirius XM radio like the Onyx or Stratus, you can connect an audio out cord to the Aux in jack your RT has in the trunk. Your RT should have come with the adapter cord(s). My '13 came with 2 or three separate cords, one that allowed the old style IPod's, another that allowed the Bluetooth dongle to be connected to the audio system, and I can't remember but it seems like a third that I didn't use.

You are correct the Aux Port but as I recall that does not do blue tooth at the current software version on the spyders to go through the helmet speakers!

I've never noticed either of my XM radios updating. I have one built into my Tahoe and my ancient and trusty Roady installed on the F3T.
