    Default GENERAL ALTIMAX REAR TIRE

I am curious as to what mileage everyone is getting from a General Altimax rear tire. I just replaced a Michelin Hydroedge after 25,000 miles. I loved the Michelin but I can’t get it anymore. Can I conceivably get 25,000 out of the General?

I also have the Michelin Hydroedge on with 27,318 miles and not ready for a change. It is on an RT-L and ride two up always. I also have an altamax waiting to be installed
and would be nice to get similar millage from that.

I have 12K on mine now and it looks very good, hopefully I can double it but you know how I ride.

I have 20,000 miles( the OEM was replaced at 5,284 miles) on the General Altimax, and I have roughly 24,000 miles on the Spyder.

In March 2019 I am replacing the rear tire, and buying an other General Altimax.

    Spyder is in hibernation.

You can see my General mileage below. The replacement for it still looks new at 8K miles. But I avoid wheelspin as much as possible.

At 61,500 miles I'm still running the OEM Kenda fronts, with probably about 1/4 tread remaining!

Driving habits and pavement quality must make a big difference on tire wear. The General Altimax I had on my 2014 RTS was worn out at less than 18,000 miles. That's about all I got out of the Michelin HydroEdge I had on my 2013 RT. I'm running a Cooper CS5 Grand Touring. So far it's doing great!

That's almost identical to my experience. My General only lasted about 15,000 miles before it was done. The Cooper is by far the best tire I've tried so far. I'm at about 20,000 on it and it's about 2/3ish done, so I'd guess it'll go to about 30,000 which is by far and away the best so far between 5 different rear tires on 2 different Spyders at about 80,000 miles total.

Would be nice if people put the psi they were running them at.

Pressure is only one vital sign; need all of 'em for good performance/longevity comparison. I'm running my Altimax at 26.

I got 9500 miles out of the Kenda and 23,500 from the General Altimax with 28 PSI, doing some burnouts along the way.
Road surface makes a big difference on longevity if your doing any burnouts, most of my travels and burnouts were on smooth roads.
I tried 22 PSI on the General, but it felt squishy due to the taller 60 series sidewalls.
I now have 2000 miles on the Yokahama S Drive and it feels great at 20-22 PSI with a lot of grip.
I'm not going to do any burnouts and see how long the Yoke lasts.

I got about 23K miles on my Altimax, running at 22 psi, and the "replace tire" indicator has made its presence known.

Next year in March, I am replacing my rear tire, and buying an other General Altimax RT 43. I currently have 22,000 miles on the General Altimax RT 43 tire.

My current mileage on my spyder is 24,000 miles.
