'ECO mode' (economy mode) also makes changes to the ECU that affect acceleration, I believe.

ECO mode has a green arrow that tells you when to upshift or downshift. Your F3 has a 1330 engine. "Most" find that shifting in the 3500 RPM or so range is optimum. Find the sweet spot on your bike and you will be good.

Most do not use the ECO function. It distracts from the driving when you are watching for the arrow. Actual savings in gas reported by most is 1 MPG or so per tank. I used it faithfully for one tank to see what it was all about. I let the bike downshift on its own--no ECO telling me when.

At my "sweet spot" the upshifts are seamless. Learn to drive by "ear" and "feel" and you will be a bit happier--IMO of course.

You can over ride the system any time you need to.

Default no more ECO for me

I tried the ECO thing early in my Spyder learning period. No more. Distracted me from the fun of riding

Here's what the ECO Mode does to acceleration.

I tried it out on my 2014 RT-L: it only gained me one-tenth of a mpg!
But it DID manage to distract me from looking where I should have been: you end up staring at the dash: instead of what's in the road in front of you...

And my favorite rant: They took away the trunk release button which worked fine and everyone that had one used it.

I've been using the Eco mode on my F3T just to get used to three wheels vs. two... found out today that it doesn't do much for wheelspin on a wet roadway at low speed. Okay, I found out on purpose - but I think it's time to turn it off. I agree with it being a waste of a button position.
