    Default Un oh, no start

    Hi all,

    2013 RT SE5.

Turning the key boots up the display with no drama.
Pressing mode shows the usual screen making ready to start and SE5 is in neutral.
    Pressing start and nothing.

    No codes.
Pressing on the brake makes no difference.
    The battery seems charged.

Looking a relays and fuses everything looks okay.
When pressing the start button the relay can be heard clicking over.
Re-seated number 2 relay anyway and no change.

    Sensor or starter?

    Thanks,
    Y

    Default Bummer.....

Battery needs help. Profile says 2010 RSS post has 2013 RT so no idea of the age on the battery or how long since you last started her up. Battery needs over 12V to start those machines. A jump start would tell if it is low and needs a charge and a load test would let you know you need a new battery.

Perhaps a stupid question, but you didn't say and thus I have to ask: Are you sure the "Engine Stop" switch a/k/a "kill switch" (red switch on the right handlebar) is set to the "run" position? As I recall if it's not in the "run" position you'd probably have these symptoms and it's also easy to forget about.

it sounds like the weak battery deal , it happens a lot when the temp ,suddenly drops and it is colder outside , ( although your cycle is inside ) seems to know when it is time too fail ... new battery is next step if the jump start idea from above post turns the cycle over ...

Check the battery voltage and a load test would be what I would check. It could rule out or definitely point to the battery.

That Engine Kill switch got me a couple times. Detailed my Spyder the night before a charity ride. Next day my boy and I suit up, hop on...no start. 5 min of panic, then realized I must have hit the kill switch while detailing. Lol. But the worst was when I first got my Spyder, took my son for his first ride. We are sitting at major intersection waiting for light to turn green. It turned green, hit the kill switch by accident, took a minute to figure out how to start. That was quite embarrassing! But luckily the cars behind me didn’t start honking or anything. Dang kill switch...
Good luck, hope its just your battery.
