Hey Peter. Happened on my OEM muffler, too. Internal noise from a baffle or whatever is in there. Ended up finding a great price on an Akrapovic on eBay so I got it.

    Default Tough one....

Don't know if you can get in there to find the problem. Many live with it till it totally goes many just replace them. Should be some around from all those folks that change to aftermarket pipes. Ebay has some cheap ones but don't know about shipping up to you. I sent mine to your area for $130.00 US shipping ....

I'd check all of the bolts and clamps first. On a 2010 model they can come loose due to age. However, it's not uncommon for the internal welds to break loose on mufflers, especially since the underneath muffler is also a catalytic converter which makes it soak up way more heat than a standard muffler. If that's it, then it doesn't hurt anything, but it sure can be annoying.

Ok, so it turned out to be a blown baffle on my 2010 RT

I wanted to stay with the stock muffler
as I had the chrome pieces I had paid
an arm and a leg for. So I checked
various dealerships to see if they had
a used one where someone else had
upgraded to a different muffler. And
    who came through was PitBull
    Powersports.( received for free)
Cuz he likes me. And also Len
brought the muffler with him in 2014
to the Colorado Owners event, where
I picked it up and had installed when
    I got back to California.

My stock muffler has rattled for the past 20,000 miles. I just ignore it. 62,000 miles and going strong. Bruce
