    Default Dropping a trailer?

So you have your trailer on your spyder and you pull to a destination. Now it's time to have a little fun riding. You leave the trailer at the hotel? How do you secure it while your gone so you know when ya get back its still there?

    1. Don't stay in bad neighborhoods.
    2. Park it in a very visible area.
    3. Put a lock on the hitch
    4. Let the motel/hotel know you will be leaving it for a while.
    5. Make sure you paid your insurance premium.

Works for me. Haven't lost one yet.....

Keep the tongue locked... and if possible, use the trailer chains and lock around a signpost in the edge of the parking lot.

Thank being said, I have traveled around the U.S. and Canada over the past 30 years and have never had an issue leaving my tow-behind in my spot at the motel/hotel.

Insurance is your best friend. It is difficult to stop a "determined" thief. Bigger and better bolt cutters a couple strong guys, and a trailer to haul. Poof...gone in 60 seconds.

As others have said in another thread, ask permission to park it at the local PD or Fire house.

In addition to the other locks, I bring along a long cable and run it through the tires and run it around whatever is available to just add the extra bit of security. Riding two up, I would have a hard time traveling without all of the stuff I bring along in the trailer.....

Park it in the Lobby or take it up to your room if it will fit in the elevator!
