Out of the box code brand new ---- P1F05 then the DPS is in-op. Turn off ign wait for timer tooturn off then its okay to go, only really does it at first start then I can ride all day with no problem. Battery is good, I cleaned all terminals and frame ground behind left front tire.
I have not tried checking plugs on DPS and I can feel a little pulse when moving handle bars at times stationary at idle.
BRP care said to take it to a dealership........
Bought out of state new so now It needs to go to dealership in western PA and my choices are Mosities or Can am of Windber (50 miles)
2018 CAN AM SPYDER RT LIMITED DARK 500 miles first code was @ 20 miles

Thanks, I was able to find a PDF file for a ATV and the code is this (P1F05 DPSMotor currentsensorrange/performanceMotor input vs output Currentcorrelation check failedExternal troubleshootingis not possibleReplace the DPS.)
Im so sad right now, you think a lose wire or bad battery could cause this?
My voltage is 13 off and 14.5 running at idle?
Other vehicles codes may not apply. I have not seen a DPS go out lately or this soon on any spyder. What I have seen is the yawl and angle senors being off and causing DPS issues. The best is to get to anyone that has the BUDS system and checking the settings. All good alignment locations should have BUDS as they have to reset these sensors after alignment....

Can’t find the code on any existing Spyder related code lists that I have or in the App. Word is that the DPS design was changed in 2017. On those ATV forums, the answer was always a DPS replacement. So, the good news is that you’re under warranty and that maybe they can get you in soon. Could be that they just need to hook you up to BUDS and do some sensor resets. Could have been a dealer prep issue. Stop in at the Flight 93 Memorial while you’re in the neighborhood. Put the trip to another good use.

[Canam of Windber is the best in this area.. Almost everybody in our club goes to him.

Was going there ever since it was a chain linked fence, But once the memorial was built it's a little too busy now and noisy. I was working at Pep boys in greensburg that day.
Prey that never happens again........
Just an update: Talked to Tim @ Windber Can am dealer and have to drop it off. Tim sounds like a great guy and is pretty sure the DPS is most likely faulty, But he has to plug it in and run some test. Cant get to it until 18th! Something going on in Pittsburgh for most of the week so they'll be all be there and not his dealership.
I have a 17 F3T which has the new “brushless dps” on our last trip I had check engine light and DPS errors come up. It happened twice and both times my DPS was not working. Both times the errors cleared after restarting and the dps went back to working. It didn’t cone up again on the next 3500 miles so I’m going to call it a fluke.
Also, BRP has many new codes on the late 17 & 18 models that were not previously used.
2017 F3T-SM6 Squared Away Mirror Wedgies & Alignment
2014 RTS-SM6 123,600 miles Sold 11/2017
2014 RTL-SE6 8,600 miles
2011 RTS-SM5 5,000 miles
2013 RTS-SM5 burned up with 13,200 miles in 13 weeks
2010 RTS-SM5 59,148 miles
2010 RT- 622
DPS is very ruff/pulsating before it fails. Once I do a restart its okay but still pulsates with the idle of engine. Turn off engine and DPS is smooth until system times out.
Ok, Im a mad scientist when it comes to trouble shooting!
I read about an ATV having a similar problem and a new battery cured it so I put a car charger on the battery (10ah) and I started the spyder and I could not get the DPS to fault so maybe the battery has been in it for awhile at dealer (dust proves it was not a fresh prep) and has sulfated?
12.6v over night and I cannot tell how low it gets when starting but seems slower than normal to me cranking.
Repeat again in the AM before I take it to Windber Can AM.
Ok ,left on tender all night and no problem with DPS today so I will call Tim and get any suggestions he can offer and its raining again.
Pretty sure its a weak battery that was never charged this year after assembled at dealer and sulfured up the battery.

It's a good idea to keep it on the tender when you aren't riding it.
Description: Motor current sensor range/performance
Possible Causes: Possible internal component failure
Service Actions:
If Occured: - Check the connectors on the DPS for moisture and corrosion. - Clear the Fault.
If Active: - Key-Off until complete vehicle shut-down. -Key-On- If fault is still active, further external troubleshooting is not possible. DPS must be replaced.

So sad it's brand new! Seeing Tim @ Windber Pa Can Am Tuesday and Florence will make it interesting for sure!
Update: They did find a hard code P1f05, But being unable to duplicate it can am will require another trip to the dealer when it does this again.
Will wait and see.
It now is at Windber Can Am.
Steering went out twice getting there, you would think this is a safety issue and the dam thing should of been tagged out before someone get seriously hurt.
