Big Thank You To SPYDERLOVERS
Just want to post a thank you to ALL the Spyderlovers that had responded to my request for help on changing the brakes of my 2014 RTS SE6. Had printed them all out and yesterday, took them along with pads from BahaRON out the garage and 2 1/2 hours later had all the brakes complete, front and back. Took Spyder out and preformed the required speed stops, and as I did this the tires started to squeal when braking. What a bunch of great people on the website. THANKS AGAIN>

One thing that I think is a beneficial byproduct of properly bedding in the brake pads is that most people have never performed a panic stop on their Spyder. Which is basically what you are doing 4 or 5 times in this process.
I think everyone should have a feel for what a panic stop is. I think it gives the rider more confidence in both their skill level and in the machine as well.

I strongly agree with the above, ANY vehicle that is new to you should have panic stops tried at least once both solo and loaded. I’m sure ABS has been around long enough that people know you can steer around a problem using full braking power, but until you have tried it, most of us are content to “hope I stop before I hit them attitude “

Panic stopping is part of the GWRRA Trike Rider Course. I took it at Wing Ding in 2016. I did the panic stop from about 20 or 30 mph. When I came to a stop I was wearing the windshield for a bib! Spyder brakes are great, and this was with the OEM brake pads!

One of the good things the Spyder course I took spent some time on , panic stop and collision avoidance. Until you actually practice it how can you be confident in doing it when needed
