Does 2018 Spyder RT Limited have AM radio

Ive read on some threads that it does have AM radio and some threads say it dosent have AM just FM ? thanks for any info. Im one of the few who still listens to AM Radio

All our local Dealers here tell me the 2018's have ONLY got FM radios, & they are really only there to justify having speakers & to let those radios be demo'ed & tested...... any/all other sound/music playing systems you need to supply!

Apparently no-one ever complained about the radio itself, just their 'sound system' & its interface to all the other owner/ryder supplied audio/music playing systems, so the story we are getting locally is that with no complaints, BRP 'assumed' that any other radio &/or music playing system from them
just wasn't wanted or warranted....

I don't think any com system has the AM feature. Guess they figured you want music but regardless have not found any that felt the FM was any good anyway and go to other systems. Myself MP3 player....

Just watched one of smoakes videos on the new 2018 dash and he states theres both AM and FM ?

This was a first impression and he said thing as if they were the same as the previous year bikes. I'd like you to go to a dealer and show me the AM on one.

Heres a pic i got from BPR web page which shows AM.....I called the dealer today and he said there was a AM radio and FM radio on the 2018 RT Limited...ill be going up to see and hear it myself if its true and ill take a pic..Perhaps some of the later 2018 builds come with AM

I get the impression that the picture that shows the presence of AM radio; is from some sort of pre-production prototype...
Kind of like those of the 2014 RTs, that still had Frunklid release buttons on them.

Went to my spyder dealer today and asked the salesman if there was am radio on a RT limited ..He said yes and i asked to see it and he turned on the spyder and he couldnt find it...The owner overheard us talking and he said theres NO am and that AM was being phased out by approx 2021 and going digital or the stations were going to convert to FM...Googled it and hes right

I couldn't find any definitive articles about the end of AM, even on the FCC website, but it looks like it is happening. Tesla and BMW dropped AM in a couple of models 2 years ago because of static interference from the electronics. Sound familiar?? FM may even lose out in a few years. Get ready to once again start paying for something that has been free for decades as broadcasters switch to digital satellite transmissions.

I just pickup my 2018 RT Limited 4 days ago. When I selected Audio for the first time, AM and FM showed in the display as options. I selected FM and tried to preset a station, failed, went back to Audio and the AM option was GONE, have not seen it since.

What really bothers me is that the Audio Control section is missing in the 2018 Operators Guide (I see online that the Audio Control section is in the 2015 Operator's Guide, but doesn't really apply to the 2018).

For us...the radio is a useless joke. Try driving in the mountains. Radio signals are a joke. We always play the radio going up and down Eklutna Rd. That's about it.
