Recall confirm
Hey guys I contacted my Dealer and they ran my VIN and I was told that it was only for the 2009 models not 2008. (steering) Just what she told me/she also said that just updated into their system May 28 and I noticed that the recall was put out May 8.

Well, I believe your dealer would be wrong. In fact, most of the steering issues filed with the NHTSA were 2008 Spyders. Clearly a problem.

Got my letter in the mail saturday. Lorie, my wife, got one too for her spyder. I dont want to take any chances with my wife's life. They didnt have time to look at the bike that day. Made an appointment for Monday.
Took the bikes to nearest dealer today. About a half hour to forty five minutes per bike. Looks like just a software update according to my receipt.

yes. it is a software update that takes about 20 minutes to download to the spyder. there is also another campain being carried out on some my2008 and some my2009 spyders. It requires about 20 minutes to place another ground wire on the unit.

Got mine done yesterday, it does make a difference. If you haven't done it, do it. Only took about 15 - 20 minutes.

I'm taking mine in tomorrow for the steering update. Does anyone have any info about the ground wire. I have a very long drive to get to the dealer and would like to have everything done in one visit.
