    Default Helmet clip

    Here's the drawing: Helmet clip 2 drawing.pdfHelmet clip 2 drawing.pdfhelmet clip 2 drawing.jpg
I did make a change to make the bar 1.625 rather than 1.5.

Gee... it just seems easier to buy a set of Lidlox, and be done with it?

Not when you have a milling machine in the garage and a supply of stainless. I think I spent about 30 minutes on the CAD and 30 minutes to make them. Also we retirees have to have projects and I already made the backing plates for the boat, modified the stainless cooler lid hinges for the formica lid step that had to be bent 90 deg with the heat gun, put a new motor assembly in the solar vent, added stainless eyebolts for the outboard stablizing strap, made new ladder steps ....

There's nothing quite like buying a hunk of stainless or aluminum and turning it into something.

Yea, I agree. Time spent making those things is time NOT riding the thing it's being made for......

    Default Congrats....

Well done...love the do-it-yourself guys. I love doing stuff myself even knowing that I could have had or bought it cheaper and faster. There is that special satisfaction when you stand back and see your work done....

I tried adding the new drawing and it would'nt but then it did I guess.

Yes, I forgot I already added a 1/16 and so added it again. It only needs to be 1.625, although 1.69 won't hurt anything.

Slips over the clip under the seat and the seat locks it.

Thanks. After looking more into this this afternoon, I realized there's a clip on the RT, and I have a GS.

Now I have to figure how to cut metal with woodworking tools! (I'm a carpenter by trade) I see somebody making these and selling but takes all the fun out of making it yourself!
