Body Panel Part Two!
Are the rubber grommets specific to where they are located? Specifically asking about the three that hold the LH Left Side Lateral Panel? Thanks! In checking mine they seem to have had some type of lubricant placed or sprayed on them. They to be deteriorating! Thanks

I did two things with mine. First I put a black zip tie through each one to hold it in place because I kept loosing them. I also put a dab of grease in each so the pin would slip in and not push the grommet through.

Solutions...
others have siliconed the grommets in place to keep them from pushing through. Not all lubricants are good for the location of those grommets due to the high heat and can dry them out and they start to shread....spit work well....

+1 on using spit to lube the 3 posts that hold those removable covers on. If they're deteriorating, then someone used a reactive lubricant that wasn't suitable for those. It may be best to replace those three rubber grommets with any new cover.

You’re right about spit. That’s what my dealer recommended.

Others have mentioned Windex.
The point is it should be water-based so that it doesn't chemically react with the rubber and it evaporates so it doesn't leave a slippery surface.

I think I would stay away from that on rubber products.

Rubber Grommets AKA Oval Washer P/N 705000321 Cheap Cycle parts sells 4 packs. Same Grommets used on all years of all Spyders
Strangely enough, you can find that same part for SeaDoo's, and Outlander and Renegade ATV's though they get progressively more expensive.

The best thing about this product it dries and eventually washes away. Been using it on the grommets and other things for a while now and no problems.

Prongs and Grommets? Hook it FIRST
The main latch that holds the side panel on is the top Hook. see pic DSCN2646.jpg The instructions on page 48 are poorly written, and the dealers dont show you the trick
to keeping them on!!! they sell more panels that way . O
The instructions for putting the panels on should say:
1...HOOK the TOP HOOK ONTO the EDGE of the FRONT FASCIA DSCN2647.jpg
2.. Make sure all grommets are in place- SPIT, WIPE, LUBE or do what you will.
3.. With the HOOK holding the panel at the TOP, wiggle, jiggle, and stand on your head to ease the prongs into the grommets.
4. Ryde and Smyle 'cause now they are Hooked In Place!! JMO

What is the relative order of expense for the different vehicles?
