2 odd fault codes C1183 and U0155 last night
2011 RT Limited
Anyone have any experience with these two codes? Bike runs totally fine. I'm thinking it is more electrical vs engine. Thoughts?
Thanks

Codes
The first one is pillion switch short, check under passenger seat to see if plug is loose.
All I want to do is ride!

Bummer.....
check wires and plug going under the seat . The second code may be related as it is a communication error between computers/sensors.

C1183 pillion switch shorted. Bad switch or bad wiring to the switch.
U0155 Canbus com error damaged wires.
They may be related in that the wiring harness has been damaged somewhere. Has it been taken apart recently? If so the harness may not have been routed correctly. Pinched between parts, melted on exhaust parts or connector not properly snapped back together. The easiest would be to deal with the pillion fault and see if that leads you back to the Canbus fault as well.

So I took the switch that is under seat. It’s held into seat with two screws and checked it out re seated it and then unplugged and re plugged it back in under plastic near battery. Code went away but still have an engine fault orange screen. I do not think it’s engine related at all. Maybe just need a tech to clear the fault and I’ll be good. I actually have it sold to a friend but want it right before I let it go.

If the screen is still orange and check engine light still on, the code is still active. Clearing the code will not help. This one is going to need diagnostic time with a good tech to track down. It does sound like a pinched or chaffed wiring harness.

U0155 Code
I have seen this code once, on my 2012 and I caused it! I was adjusting the clock (since it likes to time travel into the future) … had just pulled into the shop after a ride so the engine was idling and I had not yet set the park brake. While I was adjusting the clock, my foot drifted off the brake and the Spyder must have moved ever so slightly … boom, orange screen and I pulled codes. Looked it up on SpyderCodes ….. and was able to figure out what I had done. I could, reliably, reproduce this "failure" … so I never thought much about it. Have not tried on my 2016, but I would not be surprised if it did the same thing.
Your situation sounds a little different … because the orange screen persists (mine went away as soon as restarted the Spyder and kept my foot back on the brake).
Good luck …. Ann
