    Default RT622 Trailer Tire PSI....?

We are getting ready for our annual West Coast tour. I inspected the trailer tires as the trailer has not been used for a few months. The trailer placard says to air up to 35PSI which is where I have been running them. The tires look good but the contact patch is only on the middle 3/5ths of the tread. The tire specs have a load of 205#s at 60PSI. My trailer has a maximum GVW of 400#s so the tires can only carry a total of 10#s more than the maximum and that is with 60#PSI. What the tires are saying doesn't correspond with the trailer and neither seems to reflect reality. These are the OEM (Kenda) tires. Thoughts or recommendations......?

Thank you very much for the replies. I think I have discovered the reason for (some of) my confusion. For those of us in Spyder Land, Momma Spyder stamped maximum weight of 205#s on our trailer tires. That exact same tire has a weight capacity of 785#s for the rest of the world. Nice to know they are looking out for us by feeding us BS.....

Think it depends to how much weight you plan on puting into the trailer.

40 to 45 Lbs should be adequate for any load.
