Seat cushion
I would like to know what seat cushions some of you would recommend. I am riding a 2014 RTS. Seems like I have seen many have the Airhawk brand.
Thanks Larry

I’ve thought about the gel pad from Motorcycle Dave, but damn....cutting into the seat scares the hell out of me, and I live too far away to take it to him, plus there’s the border issue.

Have a look for local vehicle upholsters as they will often do this sort of work at a reasonable rate, particularly if they don't have to make the cover.
I was originally going to do mine myself but when I went to remove the seat I found I also had a small tear at one edge. So I took it to a local vehicle upholsters, had three to choose from and that's in a rural area. The guy there not only did the pad but also reshaped/replaced some of the foam where is was worn and did a new cover. Cost me NZ$110 (US$75) for labour and materials, not including the gel pad.
I must admit I wasn't sure how much difference the gel pad would make and pretty much bought it on a whim, but I've done a 3 day iron butt (1000+ miles a day) run since and got to say its made a big improvement. Didn't have to stand on pegs once while riding and butt didn't feel numb or painful at any time.

I have also been searching for that best fit feeling. I have tried the Butt Buffer but returned it shortly after getting it. I also had a set of beads, but didn't use them very long either. I am currently using an Airhawk with a sheepskin on top. My passenger has a beaded seat under the sheepskin.
But to be honest, I'm still not satisfied and I'm seriously looking at a Russel Day Long replacement over the winter.
Good luck with your decision.

I'm going to check out that pad. I was in Home Care sales in the mid 80's and we sold a gel pad made by Jobst. The thing that sold me on it was that to demonstrate the pad to physicians, I would ask them to place their keys on the pad and then sit on it. You could not feel the keys!! Wish that I had one of them.

My vote is Airhawk. Used one for the last 3 years. Wouldn't trade it. Worth the cost.

Your only in BC not to far....
If you want to install the GEL/Memory foam into your seat, it's easy but if your are afraid to do it
after looking at my website on how it is done, give me a call and can hook you up with a place near you
who will install it.

With my bony arse, and getting worse with age, my long time Butt Buffer stopped working, even with a full sheepskin on top. I had heard so much good about the Airhawk, I decided to give it a try. Been trying to find the "sweet spot" for me over the past week. It's true what Airhawk says, "less air is better". You need the LARGE Cruiser R. FA-Cruiser-R-REVB. Best price locally was @Cycle Gear.

Hay crazycanuk,
It's the R- REVB CRUSER . Large fits the passenger seat just fine. She does not have a big butt. But a play on words.
We used to have a gel pad which I now use on the hard Corbin saddle on my old, slow V-Max.

Hi,
Just be sure NOT to over fill the air seat. Your own weight has most to do with pressuring the seat to you liking. You us a couple of tries.
