Does something change at 5000 miles?
I recently hit 5,000 miles on my '17 F3T. It is laser aligned and has the Can-Am belt tensioner. I have always put 93 octane in it. It has been fine, but it always seemed like it could be better. Sort of seemed like it is winding out and wanting another gear which kinda felt like high frequency vibrations, but that might not be a good description. Anyway, lately it seems a lot more smoother and somewhat quieter and I have not done anything on it. So, I'm wondering if there is some kind of internal update or something that smooths it out at 5000 miles...or am I just crazy and imagining things?

Oh yeah !!!
The odometer goes to 5001... things start wearing in and the rough edges smooth out as you may see in the metalic look of the oil around the magnet on the drain plug. Be happy and it may even get better....

I've had my my Spyder for just a week now, 1000 kms (625 miles) on it and it seems that each time I take it it gets better. Maybe it's all in my mind also but even if it is, it is a good feeling to have

I know the question does seem and sounds kinda silly, but this "improvement" was not a gradual, unnoticeable change. It really seemed like it was instant like a switch was turned on. I really cannot explain it and to me, the only "logical" explanation is a 5000 mile "thing".
Who knows? Maybe I really am going crazy!

It may be like a sore joint or muscle. You notice it's there, then suddenly you notice the soreness is gone. You're not sure when it stopped hurting, you just suddenly notice that it has.

Could it be the switch to "summer blend" gasoline?

My 2014 RTL was like that. I don't remember the millage (but it was under 7,000) = the fuel economy went up 8-9 mpg (up to average 40-42 mpg), the bike got smoother...shifts and all. Everyone told me it was just break in period. I was happy whatever the reason.

It happened to me around 6,000 miles, everything was just better from shifting to the sound of the engine. It's almost like the Spyder is telling me it wants to go faster. Love it.

Did you get your bike serviced about that time? I noticed a change after the initial service. I wondered if they used a special break-in oil for the first bit of use. The transmission shifts sounded different to my ears -- it used to go "chuff" when I shifted, afterwards it just shifts. I thought the soft "chuff" was part of the bike's charm.

When I traded my F3-S for my F3-T I made a few comments about I thought the F3-T was slower but after about 3k miles I notice that the quickness returned. I think it is the belt getting broken in.
