Bumpskid Options for 2018 RT LTD
Thanks in advance for your opinions.
1. What is the best/preferred option for a bumpskid for a 2018 RT LTD?
- Spyderpops product made from polyethylene
- Any other bumpskid options which are not made of the polyethylene e.g. alloy
2. Regarding the Spyderpops bumpskid with the LEDs.
- Are the LED's continuously on while riding or is there an on/off switch for day/night riding?

Fyi just got one(5/31) on my ST & WOW! I have seen them ,but never experienced or herd more of a review other than , it was nice & great customer service if there was an issue, well I bit the bullet as a 4yr b-day Farkel & here's what I learned:
1. Make the trip to SpyderPop's shop if you can, pretty Ryde with good senic views & the shop itself was interesting IMHO. You wil be comfortable while you wait, which won't be long, well organized & flowing operation.
2.The skid itself: It is Bright, helps to be seen & to see.IMG_8316.jpg
(I asked mine to light with my driving lights, fender indicator lights, believe you can have a switched version)
3. It covers about as much lighted ground as my fog lightsby itself
4. It also cast a "glow effect" on my way home I noticed curbs lit beside me(peripheral vision) Like a car pulling up where they couldn't fit! This was amplified with motion of the light shining through my spokes as I slowed to stop. Thankfully I identified what was going on & acustomed myself.
5. It lights not only the front, But out to the side as wellIMG_8346.jpg
as far as polyethylene it a sturdy light weight material, that holds up for the intended use.
Alloy would be more of an off road,4wheeler skid plate for protection from stumps and other hazards spyders are unlikely to encounter. Hope this helps.

I would think Spyderpops would ship there, but there will be a shipping charge. Give them a call!

If you are close to the US border, there are a few companies that will allow you to ship to a US address and then you can either pick it up in person or have it shipped over the border. The other option is to have it shipped to your Canadian address but the shipping costs are high.
See for example http://myusaddress.ca/
When I lived in TO, there was another place in Niagara Falls NY see http://www.usaddressinc.com/
If you are in Quebec, there's another one in Vermont I think.

I have the lighted version. Both day and night visibility are greatly improved. No downside for having it lit at night. It is an attention getter.

The bumpskid lights are on all the time. I like that, more visibility to oncoming traffic. With the headlights, driving lights, led bumpskid, lit turn signal lights, and the two special running lights on the LTD model, you look like a Peterbilt headed down the highway. Even prettier at night.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

I will only install a bump skid if it is collapsable. Don't want to chance any frame damage if there is an front end collision. Plus I have too many lights on the front already.

I dare say if you hit anything hard enough to damage the frame, the screws that hold the bumpskid on will shear off long before there is any frame damage. There are only two, or maybe it's four, screws that fasten the bumpskid to the cross piece of the frame. All the rest of screws go into clips you install along the edge of the tupperware underneath.
