“Survey Says ...”
With so many Ryders here I have been curious as to how you use your Spyders. (Before anyone says it ... yes I know you ryde it). If have a moment let me and others know how you like to use and abuse your machines.
(1) Commuter - to and from work.
(2) Day rydes - start at home / end at home ... maybe two tanker.
(3) Multi-day / overnight / over the weekend rydes.
(4) Long haul touring - multi-day, multi-state / province.
(5) Haul it / tow it ... then day rydes
Tell us your story. And yes there can be multiple answers.
Me - 2, 3, 4 ... no commuting and refuse to haul anywhere when I can ryde it there. Although there might be a veto from my passenger as we are looking to sell the house and be on the road full time.

i'm 70 yrs old....
so let me put it this way:
i bought myself a brand new TUNDRA MAXI-CAB in 2007, best 4 wheeled vehicle I've ever owned (still have her)... as of today; 5/30/2018, i have 50,888 miles on it... in 2010 i bought a new JAGUAR FX, and sold it 16 months later with 2100 miles on it... i built my last HOT ROD and had it for years (10+), and never put over 2000 miles on it - sold it in 2012....
now this is where the story gets interesting: i bought a new SPYD3R RS in 2009, and by Feb. 2015 i had just over 50,000 miles of smiles on her when i purchased my 2015 F3-S, and as of today, 5/30/2018, my F3-S has 47,891 miles of smiles on her...
this should tell you which vehicle i'm most likely to operate.... hope this answers your questions....
oh, btw, i'm retired... 2, 3, & 4...
c u in Deadwood next month....

2,3,4 . we each ride about 20k a year but I retire this December and the mileage will increase. We will trailer the Spyders to Texas and winter there this year and our day and weekend rides will increase. Next summer we are planing a Coast to Coast & 4 corners ride that will take at least 3 months.

For me:
(1) Commuter - to and from work. (even today, with rain in forecast)
(2) Day rydes - start at home / end at home ... maybe two tanker.
Planning to do some of these soon:
(3) Multi-day / overnight / over the weekend rydes.
And maybe one day:
(4) Long haul touring - multi-day, multi-state / province.

Ours is used for:
recreation.
long distance touring(5-6k mi. trips)
day rides(will ride 250-300mi. just to go to dinner)
overnighters
and multiple day trips. Mac
P.S. Don't believe in hauling it anywhere, if it still "runs"!

If it's over 40 degrees and not raining I ride. It doesn't matter where in going. I split the miles evenly between the Spyder and Valkyrie.

Just day rydes with the local group or by ourselves, and running errands in town, including grocery shopping. This is our tradition; back when we had our Suzuki Boulevard C50, one time we filled both the saddlebags to overflowing and also tied a 50-lb bag of rice to the rear. A few hours in the saddle are great but leaves me tired and my wife starts to fall asleep, both of which my wife considers too dangerous to continue ryding -- for some reason the overloaded Suzuki Boulevard C50 was okay with her, but that is just what I get for marrying an Asian. I respect you guys with the iron butts who can ryde for hours and days at a time but it's not for me.

For me...
... I mostly use my Spyder for (1) Commuting to/from work and (2) Day rides - start/end at home. I have taken it a few (3) Multi-day/Overnight rides and only one (4) Multi-state week long tour (ridden, not towed). I definitely want to do more touring rides.
